Emmanuel
Vivet is a part time vigneron, working for two days a week for the
Brazilier’s in Thoré-la-Rochette. He maintains some vines in Lunay, and
his Pineau d’Aunis vines are around sixty years old. Although he lives
in Lunay, his cellar is next to his mother’s house in the hamlet of La
Champilonière on the plateau above the village. Despite my brief audience
with the ancient Mme Vivet, her son remained elusive for the duration of
my visit to the region.
